Himachal Pradesh Municipality Earns Place Among India's Cleanest Urban Centers
The Municipal Council of Theog in Shimla district secured a spot among India's top 20 urban local bodies in the annual Swachh Survekshan cleanliness assessment. A state government spokesperson noted that this edition marked the first time Himachal Pradesh received recognition in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu. Officials attributed the milestone to collaborative efforts by the Urban Development Department, municipal authorities, sanitation workers, and local residents aimed at enhancing waste management and sanitation infrastructure.
