Indian Rupee and Bond Yields Strengthen Following Crude Oil Price Drop
Financial markets in India responded positively to falling crude prices, which helped alleviate concerns regarding inflation and external financial pressures in the major oil-importing country. According to market data, the benchmark 10-year bond yields decreased by eight basis points to reach 7.11 percent. Simultaneously, the Indian rupee experienced a 0.3 percent increase in value, strengthening to 94.36 against the United States dollar. This economic movement followed a notable decline in international Brent crude prices.
