BCCI Chief States Fitness, Not Age, Will Dictate Kohli and Rohit's 2027 World Cup Fates
BCCI president Mithun Manhas stated that player selection for the 2027 ODI World Cup should be based on fitness and performance rather than age. Speaking to Sportstar, Manhas emphasized that decisions rest with coaches and selectors, noting that veteran batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma remain valuable to the team and can support ODI captain Shubman Gill. Both players have recently shown strong form in ODIs, though their final inclusion for the tournament in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia remains undecided.
